Monday 29th July - bike *** – Around Felixstowe – sunny and
hot.
A hot day with wall to wall sunshine with light winds after doing my
exercises in the back garden I decided to head out on the bike to see if I
could spot a combine harvester. I left home just after one heading inland
to Marsh Lane where I spotted a baler out in a field of hay, past
Kingsfleet and up towards Falkenham seeing a couple of ladies out on their
horses. I took the usual route to Kirton and in Trimley too Grimston Lane
ending up by the River Orwel just below Levington Marina. The tide wa slow
and a few yachts were out making the most of the sunshine and light airs.
Continuing past the creek with its dead trees to Trimley marshes nature
reserve where I spot a marsh harrier chasing waders and terns! I check out
the winter flood bird hide before carrying on along the bumpy River Orwell
path. Then back along the long track turning Blofield and back through
Felixstowe docks to a very busy prom. I slowly make my way to Bent Hill and
home well knackered, it was a tad on the hot side to do a 16 mile bike
ride!
Walk *** The Grove and Felixstowe Ferry
Mag and I had a lovely walk around the woods at The Grove in Felixstowe in
the evening when it was cooler, then headed down to the Ferry to watch
another nice sunset:)
